COURSE CURRICULUM

This program provides a structured learning path in design, combining theoretical foundations, technical skills, and practical experience. In the first semester, students are introduced to core subjects such as Materials Science and Technology, which develops an understanding of material properties and applications in design. Form and Planning: Analysis and Representation and Design Methods build analytical and conceptual thinking, while Design History and Culture provides historical and cultural context for design evolution. Communication Tools and Techniques and Techniques of Design Communication strengthen visual expression and presentation skills. Computer Aided Design (CAD) supports digital modelling and technical accuracy, and Product Design 1 introduces the development of structured design projects. Production Technologies 1 further enhances understanding of manufacturing processes and material application. In the second semester, learning becomes more advanced and application-oriented. Representation Techniques and Languages and Rendering improve visualisation and presentation capabilities, while Graphic Design supports effective visual communication. Product Design 2 allows students to develop more complex and refined design projects, supported by Production Technologies 2, which deepens knowledge of manufacturing processes. The program concludes with an Internship, providing professional industry experience, and a Dissertation, where students demonstrate independent research and critical design thinking. Overall, the course integrates creativity, technology, and practical application in a cohesive design education framework.
