ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Istituto Marangoni is a private Italian school specializing in fashion and design education, with its main campus in Milan, Lombardy, in northern Italy. It has expanded internationally with branches in Florence, London, Paris, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Mumbai, and Miami, making it a globally recognized institution in the fashion and design industry. The school is now part of Galileo Global Education, Europe’s largest higher education provider. Founded in 1935 by tailor Giulio Marangoni in Milan, the institution originally focused on training pattern makers and seamstresses. In 1942, it became a professional art school, broadening its educational scope. During the 1970s and 1980s, the school shifted its focus toward fashion design, product development, and marketing to meet the evolving demands of the industry. Its international expansion began with the opening of the London branch in 2003, followed by Paris in 2006, Shanghai in 2013, Florence and Shenzhen in 2016, Mumbai in 2017, and Miami in 2018. By 2010, the school had around 2,200 students from 70 nationalities across three campuses, highlighting its global appeal. In 2011, Career Education Corporation sold Istituto Marangoni to Providence Equity Partners for an estimated 17 to 20 million dollars, marking a significant milestone in its history.
