COURSE CURRICULUM

In Semester 1, the program combines foundational research training, advanced analytical tools, and a wide range of technical electives. Required modules include the Mechanical Engineering MSc Thesis (ME5107), a 30-credit year-long research project that forms the core of the degree, Research Methods for Engineers (ME521), and Finite Element Methods in Engineering – Theory and Practice (BME5110). Optional Semester 1 modules allow students to tailor their expertise in areas such as Digital Control Systems for Automation and Robotics (EE5103), Power Systems (EE6102), Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship (ME432), Advanced Energy Systems Engineering (EG5101), Materials II (ME4109), Computational Fluid Dynamics (ME4112), Fundamentals of Python Programming (CT5200), Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Engineering Applications (EE4104), Biomechanics (BME400), Advanced Computational Biomechanics (BME5100), Sustainable Energy (CE5100), Safety Engineering (ME4105), Physical Ergonomics (IE5100), Lean Systems (IE450), Project Management (IE446), and Composite Materials (ME5115).In Semester 2, required modules further strengthen advanced mechanical engineering knowledge through Advanced Mechanics of Materials (ME516), Advanced Manufacturing (ME5106), and Engineering Acoustics: Noise and Sustainable Development (ME5111). Students may also select optional modules such as Turbomachines and Advanced Fluid Dynamics (ME426), Advanced Finite Element Methods (BME501), Embedded Machine Vision (EE5104), Combustion Science and Engineering (ME5171), and Human Reliability (ME572).
