COURSE CURRICULUM

The curriculum for AgInnovate is structured to provide a comprehensive, practice-focused learning experience over one academic year, totaling 90 credits. The program integrates innovation, applied research, and product development to equip learners with the capabilities required to create and implement new agri-food ventures. All modules listed are required, ensuring that students develop a cohesive and in-depth understanding of innovation processes from idea generation through to implementation and evaluation.The program begins with TechInnovate I: Needs Finding to Concept Generation, which focuses on identifying market opportunities, understanding customer needs, and transforming insights into viable product concepts. This module develops creative thinking, problem identification, and early-stage innovation skills. Building on this foundation, TechInnovate II: Concept Development and Implementation guides students through refining ideas, prototyping, feasibility analysis, and preparing for real-world application, ensuring that concepts are translated into practical and scalable solutions.Central to the program is AgInnovate III: Innovation Project, where learners apply their knowledge to a substantial, hands-on project within the agri-food sector. This module emphasizes experiential learning, allowing participants to test, evaluate, and refine innovative solutions in a real or simulated business context. Complementing this is AgInnovate IV: Minor Dissertation, which requires students to undertake focused research related to innovation or enterprise development, strengthening analytical, research, and critical evaluation skills.Together, these modules create a structured pathway that blends innovation theory, practical application, and independent research. By the end of the program, learners are equipped with the technical, entrepreneurial, and research competencies necessary to develop sustainable agri-food products and businesses that contribute to rural economic growth and sectoral advancement.
