COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is structured to provide students with both flexibility and depth in advanced electrical and electronic engineering topics. The program is a one-year, 60 ECTS course designed for graduates of accredited BE degrees, combining taught modules with a substantial research project or thesis. Students can choose from a wide range of optional modules, allowing them to tailor their studies to their interests and career goals. Optional modules in the first semester include Computational Methods in Energy Systems Engineering, Systems Modelling and Simulation, Bioinstrumentation Design, UX Design for Wearable Electronics, Mobile Device Technologies, Mobile Networks, Digital Signal Processing, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Engineering Applications, Embedded Image Processing, Sensing and Perception for Robotics and Autonomous Vehicles, Digital Control Systems for Automation and Robotics, Financial Management, Research Methods for Engineers, Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Project Management, Lean Systems, Databases, Safety Engineering, and Introduction to Sustainability. In addition to these, students undertake the required Electrical and Electronic Engineering Project/Thesis, a 20-credit module that provides the opportunity to conduct independent research, develop technical solutions, and integrate knowledge across multiple engineering domains. The second semester continues to offer a broad range of optional modules, including SmartGrid, Internet of Things Systems Design, Power Electronics, Embedded Machine Vision, Digital Twins for Robotics, Robotic Control, Navigation and Locomotion, Signal Processing and Machine Learning for Digital Health, Applied Circuit Design for Medical Electronics, Human Reliability, and further study in sustainability. This structure ensures that graduates gain both theoretical understanding and practical expertise in advanced technologies, embedded systems, and research methodologies, preparing them for careers in industry, research, and further professional accreditation as Chartered Engineers. The combination of advanced coursework, practical applications, and an independent project ensures students are well-equipped to meet the challenges of modern electrical and electronic engineering fields and to pursue leadership roles in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
