COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) is a structured three-year degree requiring 60 ECTS credits per year, carefully designed to build strong technical expertise in accounting, taxation, finance, law, economics, and business analytics. In Year 1, students develop a broad foundation in business through core modules such as Financial Reporting, Accounting, Business Law, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematics for Business, Marketing, Business Information Systems, Data Science for Business Analytics, and Management. This first year ensures students gain essential quantitative, analytical, legal, and communication skills needed for advanced accounting studies.In Year 2, the program becomes more specialised and professionally focused. Students study Taxation I, Management Accounting I, International Financial Reporting II and III, Auditing, Assurance & Governance, Business Finance I, Applied Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and the Business Environment, Business Law II, and Digital Transformation. The integration of financial reporting, auditing, taxation, and finance strengthens technical competence while maintaining a strong emphasis on governance, regulation, and business strategy.Year 3 advances students to professional-level knowledge. Core modules include Management Accounting II and III, Advanced Principles in Financial Reporting, Taxation II, Business Finance II, Advanced Business Law, and Innovation, Creativity and Enterprise. Students also choose from a wide range of electives in areas such as econometrics, financial markets, behavioural finance, international business, marketing, statistics, intellectual property law, and an accounting internship. The Management Accounting II module, for example, deepens understanding of cost systems, performance management, regression analysis, lifecycle costing, and divisional performance evaluation.Overall, the curriculum balances theoretical knowledge with applied learning, quantitative analysis, legal frameworks, and strategic decision-making. It progressively prepares students for professional accounting qualifications while equipping them with analytical and digital skills required in modern corporate and financial environments.
