COURSE CURRICULUM
The Aeronautical Engineering program offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines advanced theoretical knowledge with practical engineering applications, preparing students for careers in the aerospace industry. A key component of the course is the research project, offered at three different credit levels (3, 12, or 30 credits), allowing students to engage in in-depth study and innovation in their chosen area of interest. Alongside the research component, students take a core module in Advanced Technical Communication for Engineers, which develops essential skills in presenting complex technical ideas clearly and effectively.Students can tailor their learning experience by selecting from a wide range of elective modules across two semesters. Early elective options include subjects like Boundary Layer Theory, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Fundamentals of Continuum Mechanics, and Finite Element Analysis, all of which provide foundational knowledge in fluid dynamics and structural analysis. Other electives such as Aerospace Metallic Materials, Composite Aircraft Structures, Aircraft Flight Dynamics and Simulation, Aerodynamics 2, Airworthiness and Spaceworthiness, and Space Systems Design deepen students' understanding of materials, aircraft performance, and regulatory standards. In the later part of the program, students choose from advanced electives such as Introduction to Heat Transfer, Propulsion Systems, Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Aircraft Control Systems, which explore specialized topics in thermodynamics, propulsion, and control. Further options include Engineering Mechanics of Plastics and Composites, Fracture Mechanics, Advanced Aerospace Structures, Non-Linear Finite Element Analysis, Foundations of Aircraft Leasing, Engineering Alloys, and Plasticity of Conventional and 3D Printed Metals. These modules allow students to explore cutting-edge developments in aircraft materials, structural behavior, and industry practices. Overall, the program offers a flexible and in-depth education in aeronautical engineering, enabling students to build expertise in both core and emerging areas of the field.
