COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering in Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence offers a specialized and in-depth curriculum that combines core principles of AI with advanced computer vision techniques. The course begins with foundational modules such as Introduction to Data Engineering and Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, providing students with the essential knowledge required to understand and implement intelligent systems. Building on this, students explore more focused areas through modules like Machine Vision and Computer Vision Systems, which teach methods of image analysis, object recognition, and scene understanding. The course also includes Artificial Intelligence and Governance, which examines the ethical, legal, and societal implications of AI technologies.Students are trained in both theoretical and applied research methods through the Introduction to Engineering Research Methods module. The program progresses into cutting-edge topics, including Theory and Practice of Advanced AI Ecosystems, Deep Learning at the Edge, and Geometric Computer Vision, allowing students to engage with the latest developments in the field. Deep Learning for Computer Vision is a key module that focuses on the application of neural networks to image and video data.Students have the option to undertake a major research project, the Master of Engineering Project – Computer Vision and AI, where they apply their learning to real-world problems, gaining hands-on experience in developing and deploying AI-driven vision systems. Alternatively, a select group of students may join the Digital Futures and Innovation stream, replacing the traditional thesis with a portfolio-based approach. This path includes participation in the Digital Futures Lab and the completion of a Digital Futures Project, offering a creative and interdisciplinary perspective on AI and emerging technologies. Overall, the program equips graduates with deep technical expertise, practical skills, and an understanding of the broader context in which AI and computer vision operate, preparing them for careers in research, development, or innovation-led industries.
