COURSE CURRICULUM

The Technology Management degree is a four-year program that equips students with a combination of business, engineering, and technological skills, preparing them for diverse roles across modern industries. In Year 1, students are introduced to core concepts such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, management principles, manufacturing technologies, technological mathematics, quality management, and decision support tools. This foundational year builds an understanding of how businesses operate in industrial and technological contexts. In Year 2, the focus shifts to practical business and engineering applications, including financial accounting, marketing, CAD and drawing, operations modeling, plant automation, and employee relations. Human resource management and financial decision-making also form key components, providing a well-rounded business perspective.In Year 3, students gain deeper technical and operational expertise through modules such as supply chain design, lean thinking, reliability technology, and simulation modeling. This is followed by a semester of Cooperative Education, where students apply their learning in a real-world industrial or business setting, gaining valuable hands-on experience. In the final year, the emphasis is on advanced topics including supply chain planning, innovation and technology management, quality systems, and project planning. Students also undertake a major Final Year Project over two semesters, allowing them to apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems or propose innovative solutions. Electives further allow students to specialize according to their interests and career goals.Overall, this program balances theoretical learning with practical application and industry exposure. It has been designed in close consultation with industrial experts and is accredited by Engineers Ireland at the Associate Engineer level.
