COURSE CURRICULUM

This four-year Psychology degree offers a comprehensive and structured learning path, blending theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and research skills. In Year 1, students are introduced to key foundations through modules such as Psychology: Theory and Method, Psychology and Everyday Life, and Practical Psychology. Alongside these, students choose two non-psychology electives each semester from a wide range of subjects including biology, sociology, politics, public administration, media, history, Spanish, and mathematics, allowing for a broader understanding of social and cultural contexts. In Year 2, the focus deepens into core psychological areas such as biological psychology, personality, cognition, social psychology, and human development. Students also begin formal training in research methods and empirical investigation, gaining essential skills in data analysis and scientific inquiry.Year 3 is dedicated to practical experience through Cooperative Education and Academic Exchange. This allows students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings, either in professional environments or through academic opportunities abroad. In the final year, students undertake a major independent research project spread across two semesters. This is supported by modules in advanced research methods and applied psychology. Students also select from a wide range of advanced electives, including topics like abnormal and clinical psychology, developmental psychopathology, economic psychology, health psychology, political psychology, educational neuroscience, cognition, gender, and social identity. These options allow for specialisation according to individual interests and career goals.Overall, this program offers a strong foundation in psychological science, research competence, and practical experience.
