COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Music, Media and Performance Technology is a four-year program that develops creative and technical skills for careers in digital media, music production, and performance technologies. In Year 1, students build foundational knowledge in digital media, graphic design, web development, media programming, digital audio, music and computers, and technological mathematics, while also learning introductory concepts in algorithmic and generative composition. Year 2 focuses on more advanced creative and technical development, including digital arts, sound synthesis, performance technology, mobile application design, digital video, animation, human-computer interaction, sociology of media, and advanced audio production. Year 3 introduces professional and applied learning through cooperative education placement, alongside modules in digital arts, advanced video production, machine learning for interactive systems, 3D modelling, digital fabrication, and electives such as project management, interactive multimedia, and film analysis. Year 4 concentrates on final-year projects and advanced creative practice, including music and media projects, creative coding, visual coding, virtual and augmented reality design, performance technology, and multimedia industry studies. Across the program, students combine artistic creativity with digital and technical expertise, gaining experience in audio-visual production, interactive systems, and emerging media technologies. Overall, the degree prepares graduates for dynamic careers in music, media production, digital arts, and creative technology industries.
