COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Interaction Design is a four-year program that develops students’ skills in designing digital, interactive, and user-centred experiences across media, web, mobile, and emerging technologies. In Year 1, students build foundational knowledge in digital media, graphic design, interaction design principles, web development, media programming, sociology of media, and perceptual systems, alongside technical and mathematical skills. Year 2 focuses on developing practical and analytical abilities through modules in digital audio and video, mobile application design, human-computer interaction, user research, digital modelling, animation, and design visualisation, encouraging students to understand how people interact with digital systems. Year 3 introduces more advanced and applied learning, including interaction design projects, cooperative education placement, computer-supported collaborative work, 3D modelling, digital fabrication, and project management, allowing students to gain real industry experience and apply their skills in professional contexts. In Year 4, students explore advanced topics such as user experience design, virtual and augmented reality, digital marketing, multimedia industry practices, and the wider information society. The program culminates in major interaction design projects that demonstrate independent research, creativity, and technical ability. Overall, the degree prepares graduates for careers in UX design, digital media, product design, and interactive technology development.
