COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science is a four-year program that develops strong scientific knowledge alongside practical environmental skills. In the first year, students build a foundation in core sciences including biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics, while also gaining introductory knowledge in environmental science, laboratory calculations, and scientific computing. The second year expands into more specialised areas such as energy and the environment, environmental modelling and GIS, occupational hygiene, pollution biology, ecology, soil science, environmental chemistry, microbiology, and analytical techniques. In the third year, students deepen their expertise with advanced modules in environmental modelling, waste management, monitoring, research methods, and environmental management, alongside a cooperative education placement that provides valuable real-world industry experience. The final year focuses on applied and professional topics including environmental impact assessment, safety technology, industrial ecology, clean technology, conservation ecology, and advanced waste management. Students also complete a significant research project over two semesters, allowing them to investigate a specific environmental issue in depth. Overall, the program combines scientific theory, technical skills, and practical experience to prepare graduates for careers in environmental protection, sustainability, and related industries.
