COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and Engineering is structured over four years to progressively develop both technical and managerial skills in the construction field. In the first year, students gain a strong foundation in mathematics, science, materials, sustainability, construction technology, and graphic communication, while also developing skills in writing, data analysis, project planning, and Building Information Modelling. The second year builds on this with more advanced study in construction technology, CAD, structural mechanics, building services, land surveying, and employee regulations, helping students understand both technical and organisational aspects of projects. In the third year, students explore building production, construction regulations, procurement, data management, and structural design, followed by a cooperative education placement that provides valuable real-world experience and helps shape their final year project ideas. The fourth year focuses on advanced topics such as forensic engineering, building services, facilities management, financial accounting, procurement and contracting, and project planning and control. Students also complete a major final year project, encouraging independent learning and problem-solving in a construction context. Overall, the program combines academic knowledge with practical experience to prepare graduates for professional roles in construction management and engineering.
