COURSE CURRICULUM

The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning degree is a structured program that spans four years, with an option to progress to a fifth-year master's level. In Year 1, students build a solid foundation in programming, computer science, and mathematics. Modules include Introduction to Programming, Programming for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning for Interactive Systems, and core mathematical subjects like Calculus and Linear Algebra. In Year 2, the curriculum advances into Object-Oriented Development, Operating Systems, Artificial Intelligence for Games, Intelligence Systems, Data Structures and Algorithms, Computer Graphics, and Engineering Mathematics, reinforcing technical proficiency and problem-solving skills.Year 3 features an integrated Cooperative Education placement in Semester 5, providing hands-on industry experience. Semester 6 deepens AI-specific expertise with modules such as Machine Learning: Methods and Applications, Topics in AI, Professional Issues in Computing, Project Management, and Operations Research. Students can then choose between two paths in Year 4: the BSc or MSc option. The BSc route includes modules like Neural Computing, Theory and Practice of Software Design, Applied System Design, AI Project work, and AI Culture. The MSc option involves more advanced study with modules such as Advanced Programming Concepts, Advanced AI Ecosystems, Research Methods, and Software Architectures. This structured curriculum ensures students graduate with the necessary skills and experience for careers in AI or further postgraduate study.
