COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Education in Physical Science with Chemistry and Physics is a structured four-year program that integrates scientific knowledge with professional teaching training. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in education through modules in philosophy and psychology of learning, alongside core scientific subjects such as mechanics, electricity, magnetism, waves, light, modern physics, semiconductor devices, and introductory chemistry including inorganic and physical chemistry. In the second year, the focus expands to include planning for learning, classroom practice, and introductory science pedagogy, combined with a significant school placement. Students also deepen their scientific understanding through topics like forces, fields, earth science, organic chemistry, and analytical chemistry. The third year further develops teaching competence with modules on curriculum, assessment, inclusion, and social justice, alongside advanced pedagogy. Scientific studies continue with optics, thermal physics, and more advanced chemistry modules including physical, analytical, and inorganic chemistry. In the final year, students complete an extended school placement and study professional teaching practices while advancing their knowledge in electromagnetism, modern physics, nanotechnology, and organic chemistry.
