COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Laws in Law and Cyber Security program is structured over four years to integrate legal education with technical expertise in computing and cyber security. In Year 1, students build a foundation in core legal subjects such as Contract Law, Criminal Law, and Legal Systems, alongside introductory computing modules including software development, computer organisation, and discrete mathematics. Year 2 advances both strands with modules in Constitutional Law, Torts, and European Union Law, while also introducing specialised topics such as data security, cryptography, computer networks, and cloud computing. In Year 3, students study Land Law and cyber security law and regulations, while also engaging in cooperative education through a work placement that provides practical industry experience. Additional technical modules focus on networking, web technologies, and applied laboratory learning. In the final year, students complete advanced legal modules including Equity and Trusts, Company Law, and Business Associations, alongside specialised computing topics such as machine learning, applied cloud computing, host and network security, and software engineering. The program ensures that graduates develop strong analytical, legal, and technical skills, preparing them for careers that require expertise in both law and cyber security in an increasingly digital and regulated world.
