COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electronic and Computer Engineering program provides students with a strong foundation in both hardware and software systems, mathematical analysis, and engineering principles. In Year 1, students study core modules such as Chemistry for Engineers, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Computing, Engineering Mathematics, and Engineering Science. They are introduced to digital systems, circuit analysis, and semiconductor device fundamentals, laying the groundwork for deeper technical exploration. Year 2 builds upon this knowledge with modules like Computer Software, Active Circuit Design, Digital Systems, Communications & Network Protocols, and Control Systems. The curriculum also includes the development of professional skills essential for engineering practice.At the end of Year 2 and into the first semester of Year 3, students complete a Cooperative Education placement, gaining practical, real-world experience in industry. During this time, they choose a major option that will define their focus for the remainder of the degree. These options include Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Energy, Robotic Engineering, or a General track. Students also decide whether to graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree after Year 4 or continue into the fifth year to complete the Master of Engineering (MEng) track.This structure offers flexibility while ensuring comprehensive technical and practical training. The integration of industrial placement with academic study enhances employability and professional readiness. Whether students pursue the BEng or MEng route, the program equips them with the analytical, design, and problem-solving skills necessary for a dynamic career in areas such as artificial intelligence, automation, sustainable energy, telecommunications, and embedded systems. The carefully designed major options and elective flexibility ensure students can tailor their learning to specific interests and industry demands, making them highly competitive in a rapidly evolving technological world.
