The MSc in Biotechnology & Business is designed to develop a unique blend of scientific and commercial expertise, preparing graduates to lead and innovate in the biotechnology and biopharmaceutical industries. This knowledge is complemented by in-depth scientific modules, allowing students to critically evaluate, communicate, and commercialise biotechnology research.Graduates of the program will be equipped to conduct feasibility studies, develop business plans, and navigate the regulatory landscape of life sciences. They will also develop strong skills in working with interdisciplinary teams, including scientists and entrepreneurs, to bring innovative biotechnological solutions to market. A key focus is placed on career readiness, with modules such as Professional Career Development and opportunities to engage directly with industry through projects and case studies.Core modules include The Business of Biotechnology and Science, Marketing Management, Business Strategy, Corporate Finance, and Regulatory Affairs for Life Sciences. Scientific modules such as Recombinant DNA Technology, Biomedical Diagnostics & Devices, Environmental Biotechnology, and Food Biotechnology further enhance students’ domain knowledge. The program culminates in a Biotech Case Study and a major Feasibility and Business Plan project, allowing students to apply their learning to real-world scenarios.Overall, this program prepares students for leadership roles in biotech firms, start-ups, consultancy, and regulatory bodies by developing both their scientific understanding and their commercial insight.
