COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLM in Marine and Maritime Law at University College Cork includes a well-structured curriculum combining core legal research training with specialised and elective modules focused on marine and maritime law. These include Introduction to the Law of the Sea (10 credits), Admiralty Law (10 credits), and Marine Environmental and Natural Resources Law (10 credits). These modules provide a comprehensive understanding of international maritime regulations, shipping practices, environmental protection, and resource management in marine contexts.In addition, students choose elective modules to the value of 30 credits, with at least 20 credits from List A and up to 10 credits from List B. List A includes a variety of advanced topics such as International Human Rights Law, Climate Change Law and Policy, Global Maritime Security, Port Law, and Sale, Insurance and Carriage of Goods at Sea. These electives allow students to tailor the program to suit their interests and career goals.
