COURSE CURRICULUM

The five-year dentistry program offers a comprehensive and structured education that integrates both theoretical knowledge and clinical training. In Year 1, students are introduced to foundational biomedical sciences relevant to dentistry, such as anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. Modules include Principles of Human Structure, Topographical Anatomy, Introduction to Physiology, and Biomolecules and Metabolic Pathways. Core dental knowledge begins with Fundamentals of Dentistry I and II, offering an early insight into dental practice and patient care.Year 2 expands on this base by exploring subjects such as Neuroanatomy, Embryology, Dental Morphology, Histology, and Molecular Biology. Students also study the Nervous System, Pharmacology, and Mechanisms of Disease to understand how general health impacts oral health. Introduction to Clinical Dentistry prepares students for more hands-on practice. By Year 3, the focus shifts to building clinical competency. Students take modules in Dental Pharmacology, Systemic and Oral Diseases, Practical Restorative Dentistry, and Behavioural and Ethical Dental Practice, developing both their technical skills and professional conduct.Year 4 deepens clinical experience with modules in Clinical Medical Sciences, Dental Surgery, Adult Oral Health, and Oral Health Development. Students treat patients under supervision, applying knowledge from earlier years in a practical setting. In Year 5, the emphasis is on professional-level competence, with advanced modules in Dental Surgery, Clinical Restorative Dentistry, and Theoretical Dentistry. Students continue to refine their skills in real clinical environments while also studying the theoretical principles behind their practice. The final year prepares graduates for independent dental practice by integrating all aspects of dentistry—clinical, ethical, and theoretical. Throughout the course, there is a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice, patient communication, and the development of clinical judgement. By the end of the program, students are equipped to enter the dental profession with the knowledge, skill, and confidence needed to provide high-quality oral healthcare.
