COURSE CURRICULUM

The M.Sc. in Translational Oncology follows a structured academic schedule designed to support both theoretical learning and research development. The program begins with an induction day in September, where students are introduced to the course structure, timetables, assessment methods, and overall content. During Semester 1, formal lectures are typically held from Monday to Thursday, usually between 10am to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm, although some sessions may be scheduled outside these hours to accommodate visiting experts and clinical lecturers. Students are also required to attend additional tutorial sessions beyond regular lecture times to deepen their understanding. In Semester 2, the schedule becomes more intensive, with lectures running from Monday to Friday within similar time slots, again with some flexibility for guest speakers and clinical teaching. Alongside lectures, tutorials continue to play an important role in reinforcing key concepts and encouraging interactive learning. A significant component of the program is the development of research skills, with dedicated modules delivered during the second semester. These modules prepare students for their independent research project, helping them build essential skills in data analysis, critical evaluation, and scientific investigation.
