COURSE CURRICULUM

The M.Sc. in Nursing is structured as a 90 ECTS postgraduate program delivered over two years, combining taught modules and a research dissertation. Students complete 60 ECTS through core taught modules and a 30 ECTS dissertation in the second year. In Year One, the program begins with an intensive week in September, followed by attendance one or two days per week depending on whether students are enrolled full-time or part-time. Year Two continues with scheduled classes and workshops while placing a stronger emphasis on independent research and dissertation work. The course uses a blended learning approach, incorporating lectures, group discussions, and self-directed or online learning to support flexibility and engagement. Assessment methods include both written and practical assignments designed to evaluate theoretical understanding and applied skills. The taught component consists of mandatory modules that develop advanced knowledge and professional competence in nursing. These include advancing the theoretical foundations for nursing, research methods for healthcare, ethics and law in healthcare, leadership and quality improvement, facilitating learning in clinical practice, and advancing the professional role of the nurse. Together, these modules focus on evidence-based practice, leadership, education, and governance within healthcare. The overall structure supports the development of critical thinking, research capability, and advanced clinical and professional skills required for leadership roles in nursing.
