COURSE CURRICULUM

The M.Sc. in Neuroscience is a one-year full-time program that typically runs from September to early July and is structured across three academic terms. The course includes approximately 200 contact hours delivered through lectures, laboratory practicals, journal club workshops, and student-led seminars, providing a balanced mix of theoretical and hands-on learning. Assessment is carried out through a combination of continuous coursework and written examinations. The program offers multidisciplinary training covering a wide range of topics from molecular to behavioural neuroscience. Students study specialised modules such as form and function of the nervous system, biochemical basis of neuropharmacology, neuropharmacology, drug development, neuroimmunology, experimental and cellular neuroscience, neural engineering, and data science in neuroimaging. Additional components include literature review, experimental research skills, statistical skills, current experimental techniques, and participation in journal clubs to enhance critical analysis of scientific research. These modules are designed to build a strong foundation in both the scientific principles and research methods used in neuroscience. The third term is dedicated to an independent research project, where students investigate a novel topic within the field, applying the knowledge and skills developed during the course. Overall, the program prepares students for advanced research or professional roles in neuroscience and related disciplines.
