COURSE CURRICULUM

The M.Sc. in Genomic Medicine is a 90 ECTS program that can be completed full-time in one year or part-time over two years, combining taught modules with a substantial research dissertation. The structure includes a 30 ECTS dissertation and a 10 ECTS Research Skills module as core components, alongside additional taught and elective modules. The core teaching is organised into four mandatory modules worth 30 ECTS in total, covering research skills such as ethics, literature review, journal clubs, and laboratory work, as well as computational and genomic data handling, precision medicine, and research integrity in modern scientific practice. Students also develop foundational programming skills and learn how to process and analyse next-generation sequencing data. The elective component allows students to tailor their studies through modules such as advanced genomic data analysis, statistical methods, population genomics, genomics technologies, molecular oncology, pathogen genomics, and cellular biology. This flexibility enables students to specialise in areas aligned with their interests and career goals. Teaching is delivered by active researchers and clinical scientists, ensuring that course content reflects the latest developments in the field and is regularly updated. Overall, the program prepares students for advanced research or clinical careers in genomic and precision medicine.
