COURSE CURRICULUM

The M.Sc. in Finance is a one-year full-time program worth 90 ECTS credits, structured to combine taught learning with independent research. The course includes a taught component of 60 credits, delivered through a series of modules that develop students’ analytical, quantitative, and technical skills in finance. These modules provide a strong foundation in key areas of financial theory and practice, preparing students to understand and apply concepts relevant to modern financial markets and institutions. In addition to the taught element, students complete a 30-credit dissertation, which is a major independent research project. This dissertation allows students to investigate a specific topic in finance in depth, applying the knowledge and skills gained throughout the program to a real-world or theoretical problem. The research component is an essential part of the degree and contributes significantly to the final award. Delivered at Trinity Business School within Trinity College Dublin, the program is designed to prepare graduates for careers in financial services, investment management, and related sectors, as well as for further academic study.
