COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Computational Engineering is a one-year full-time program designed to equip students with advanced skills in computational methods and their application across various engineering domains. The course consists of 60 ECTS of taught modules and a substantial individual research project worth 30 ECTS. The Computational Engineering specialism is available to students who select at least 15 ECTS from designated modules within this strand. All students are required to complete core modules, including Research Dissertation, Research Methods, Computational Methods, and Introduction to Deep Learning. These modules provide a solid foundation in the theory and practice of computational engineering, preparing students to tackle real-world challenges using advanced analytical tools.To deepen their expertise, students specialising in Computational Engineering can choose from a range of elective modules such as Algorithms for Quantum Computing, Cyber-Physical Systems and Control, Simulation for Geophysical Modelling, and Computation for Transportation Engineering. These electives allow students to explore emerging fields and technologies relevant to the growing demand for automation, simulation, and intelligent systems in engineering. The final research dissertation enables students to apply their learning to a complex problem, demonstrating both innovation and technical competence. This intensive full-time program is ideal for graduates aiming to develop cutting-edge skills for careers in engineering, technology, or research.
