COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Climate Adaptation Engineering is a one-year full-time postgraduate program delivered through a blended learning format, with approximately 90 percent classroom-based teaching and 10 percent online learning, depending on module selection. The course is structured around a range of core modules that build both technical and interdisciplinary knowledge. These include topics such as introduction to climate adaptation engineering, global environmental change, advanced spatial analysis using GIS, and introductory machine learning. Students also explore areas like infrastructure adaptation, civil engineering for sustainable development, life cycle assessment, and human interactions with biodiversity. A key feature of the program is the industry-led climate adaptation research project, worth 30 ECTS credits, which allows students to apply their learning to real-world challenges. In addition to the core modules, students select two optional modules based on availability, covering areas such as climate science and policy, sustainable water systems, smart cities, transport planning, energy systems, and environmental governance. This flexible structure enables students to tailor their learning to their interests while developing practical and analytical skills. Overall, the program combines engineering expertise with environmental awareness, preparing graduates to design and implement effective climate adaptation solutions across diverse sectors.
