COURSE CURRICULUM

The M.Phil. in Digital Arts and Intermedia Practices is structured to combine taught modules with an independent research project, offering both full-time and part-time study options. Full-time students complete six taught modules worth 60 ECTS across two semesters, followed by a 30 ECTS research project, while part-time students spread their studies over two years, completing four modules in the first year and two modules plus the research project in the second year. All students take four core modules that explore areas such as the history and theory of digital art, digital storytelling, spatial practices, and collaborative digital production, alongside two elective modules that allow for specialisation in topics like performance analysis, documentary, or writing for computer games. The program culminates in a 30 ECTS research project tailored to individual interests, with flexible formats to suit different creative and academic goals. Students may choose to produce a traditional dissertation, a practice-based project or exhibition accompanied by critical reflection, or a professional proposal such as an arts funding application or public art commission plan. This structure enables students to develop both critical understanding and creative practice, preparing them for careers in digital arts, media, and related fields.
