COURSE CURRICULUM

The M.Phil in Applied Intercultural Communications is a one-year full-time program structured around taught modules and a research dissertation, totaling 90 ECTS credits. In the first year, students complete 60 ECTS credits through a combination of core and optional modules, followed by a 30 ECTS dissertation submitted at the end of the summer. During the first semester, also known as Michaelmas Term, students take three core modules, each worth 5 credits, along with two optional modules selected from a designated list, each worth 10 credits, bringing the semester total to 35 ECTS credits. In the second semester, or Hilary Term, students choose two additional optional modules, each worth 10 credits, alongside one core module worth 5 credits, totaling 25 ECTS credits. This flexible structure allows students to tailor their learning according to their academic and professional interests. Dissertation supervision begins in Hilary Term and continues into Trinity Term, supporting students as they develop and complete their research project. The thesis is submitted at the end of the research term, allowing students to integrate theoretical knowledge and practical insights gained throughout the program into an in-depth academic study.
