COURSE CURRICULUM

The LL.M. in International and European Business Law at Trinity College Dublin is a full-time, in-person program structured over two academic semesters. During each semester, students are required to complete three modules, with each module being offered in a specific semester. These modules involve 22 hours of classroom instruction and are supported by extensive independent study, critical reading, and legal research. The program is designed to offer a comprehensive and engaging learning experience, combining theoretical foundations with practical perspectives in international and European business law. A variety of assessment methods are used across the modules to support and enhance the learning process, such as written assignments, exams, presentations, or research-based tasks, allowing students to engage with the material in diverse and dynamic ways.Alongside taught modules, a central component of the program is the completion of a research dissertation. Over the course of the academic year, each student must undertake and submit a substantial piece of original legal research on an approved topic within the field of international or European business law. The dissertation allows students to explore a subject of personal interest in depth, develop their research and writing skills, and demonstrate their ability to engage critically with legal sources, academic commentary, and current debates. This independent research project not only strengthens students’ understanding of complex legal issues but also provides a valuable foundation for those considering careers in legal practice, policy, or further academic study.
