COURSE CURRICULUM

The Trinity College Dublin Business Studies and Russian program is a structured four-year degree that integrates core business education with advanced Russian language and cultural studies. In the first and second years, students typically complete 18–20 hours of lectures and tutorials each week, supported by equivalent independent study. These years cover foundational business modules such as sustainable development, management and organisation, research methods, marketing, accounting, finance, operations management, organisational behaviour, innovation, and climate change, alongside Russian language learning and business communication. Students also study the society, institutions, culture, and economic environment of Russia and may take optional modules in literature and film depending on their language pathway. The third year is spent abroad at a partner university or business school in a Russian-speaking country, where most teaching and assessment are conducted in Russian. Students may also complete a work placement of approximately two months to gain practical experience in the local business environment. In the fourth year, students complete a Capstone module focused on independent research and select from advanced business modules such as international business, strategic management, finance, marketing, digital marketing, leadership, and social innovation. Throughout the final year, they also continue developing Russian language skills in writing, speaking, translation, and business communication, preparing them for careers in international business, diplomacy, consultancy, research, or further postgraduate study.
