COURSE CURRICULUM

The Trinity College Dublin Business Studies and a Language program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in both business and language skills over four years. In the first and second years, students attend approximately 18–20 hours of lectures and tutorials each week, supported by an equal amount of independent study. During this time, they complete a wide range of modules including sustainable development, management, research methods, marketing, accounting, finance, operations management, organisational behaviour, climate change, and entrepreneurship, alongside general language and business language studies. Depending on the chosen language, students may also study literature, film, society, institutions, and culture. The third year is spent abroad at a university or business school in the country where the chosen language is spoken, with most modules and exams taught through that language. Students may also undertake a work placement of around two months to gain practical business and cultural experience. In the fourth year, students complete a Capstone module focused on independent research and choose from advanced business subjects such as strategic management, international business, finance, marketing, digital marketing, and leadership. Throughout the program, students continue developing writing, speaking, translation, and business communication skills in their chosen language, preparing them for international careers.
