COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Psychology program is structured over four years, beginning with a broad foundation and progressing to specialised study and independent research. In the first and second years, students study core areas such as social psychology, perception, developmental psychology, psychological disorders, cognition and the brain, language, neuroscience, personality, evolutionary psychology, and research methods with statistical analysis. These years provide essential knowledge and scientific skills, and students may also take modules from other disciplines to broaden their learning. By the third year, students begin to focus on areas of personal interest, selecting from a range of advanced modules while ensuring they cover key themes including biological, social, developmental, cognitive, and personality psychology. A wide variety of specialised topics is available, such as neuropsychology, clinical psychology, workplace wellbeing, global mental health, child development, and the psychology of behaviour and decision making. In the fourth year, students continue advanced study while completing an independent capstone research project under academic supervision, allowing them to investigate a topic in depth and develop strong research skills. Assessment throughout the program combines written examinations and continuous coursework. This structure enables students to build a strong scientific understanding of psychology while developing analytical, research, and practical skills applicable to a range of careers.
