COURSE CURRICULUM

The The Lir Academy BA (Hons) Acting program is structured over three years, with each year focusing on the progressive development of essential acting and performance skills. In the first year, students complete three compulsory modules: Acting and Text 1, Voice Studies 1, and Movement Studies 1. These foundational modules introduce students to core acting techniques, script analysis, vocal training, and physical movement, helping them build the basic skills required for performance. In the second year, students continue to develop their abilities through four compulsory modules: Acting and Text 2, Voice Studies 2, Movement Studies 2, and Ensemble Production. This stage places greater emphasis on collaboration, advanced performance techniques, and working as part of a theatrical ensemble. In the third year, students undertake eight compulsory modules, including participation in five public theatre productions and one short film, all led by professional directors and designers. The remaining two modules focus on professional development classes and an audition showcase. Although these final two modules are not formally assessed, they are specifically designed to prepare students for the transition from academic training to professional careers in theatre, film, radio, and television drama, ensuring graduates are industry-ready and professionally equipped.
