COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Digital Health provides students with advanced knowledge and practical skills needed to support the transformation of healthcare through digital technologies, data analysis, and intelligent healthcare systems. In the first semester, students develop a strong foundation in healthcare research methods, learning how to apply advanced research techniques to healthcare practice and evaluate evidence effectively. They also study data analysis and visualisation for healthcare systems, focusing on harmonising data from multiple healthcare sources and creating dashboards, reports, charts, and visual tools to support healthcare decision-making. The module on digitalisation in modern healthcare explores how digital technologies can improve patient outcomes, clinical effectiveness, healthcare sustainability, and integrated care systems. In the second semester, students examine intelligent healthcare systems and learn how artificial intelligence strategies can be applied to real-world healthcare challenges. They also explore connected healthcare technologies that enable continuous monitoring, sensing, and assessment outside traditional clinical environments. Additional focus is placed on quality, governance, and leadership, helping students understand the ethical, organisational, and operational issues involved in digital healthcare delivery. In the final semester, students complete a major research project focused on generating evidence for healthcare settings, where they critically evaluate research, address ethical considerations, and present original findings related to digital health innovation and practice.
