COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Data Analytics provides students with a comprehensive understanding of modern data analysis techniques, database systems, programming, and research skills needed for careers in data-driven industries. In the first semester, students build a strong technical foundation through modules in relational databases, programming for data analytics, statistics, interpretation of data, and core analytics concepts. These subjects develop the ability to manage data, analyse patterns, and apply statistical methods to solve real-world problems. The program places a strong emphasis on practical analytical skills, enabling students to work with large datasets and generate meaningful insights. In the second semester, learners progress to more advanced topics including advanced analytics, advanced databases, data visualisation, and research methods. Students gain expertise in handling complex database systems, creating impactful visual representations of data, and applying analytical models to support business and organisational decision-making. The course also develops critical thinking and research abilities that prepare students for independent analytical work. In the final semester, students complete a substantial applied research project worth 30 credits, where they investigate a real-world data analytics problem and produce a detailed research thesis.
