COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA in Strategic Health and Wellbeing Leadership is structured to develop advanced knowledge and practical leadership skills for improving health and wellbeing across diverse settings. In the first semester, students build foundational understanding through modules covering the pillars of health and wellbeing, strategic planning, health promotion, and personal wellbeing alongside professional development. These areas help learners understand core concepts of wellbeing while also developing self-awareness and professional growth. The second semester focuses on applied and leadership-focused learning, including leadership and change management, integrative wellbeing practices, and emerging trends in the field. Students also study how to manage health and wellbeing projects effectively while developing applied research skills to support evidence-based decision-making. The final stage of the program consists of a major research dissertation, where students conduct independent and original research in a chosen area of health and wellbeing. This involves designing a research study, applying appropriate methodologies, analysing data, and critically evaluating findings in line with ethical standards. The dissertation culminates in a written thesis and viva voce presentation, demonstrating the student’s ability to contribute new knowledge to the field. Overall, the program combines theory, leadership, and research to prepare graduates for advanced roles in health promotion, wellbeing strategy, and policy development.
