COURSE CURRICULUM

The General Nursing program is a comprehensive four-year course that combines theoretical learning with extensive clinical practice to prepare students for professional nursing roles. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, psychology, communication, and basic nursing care, while beginning supervised clinical placements to develop essential skills. The second year focuses on holistic patient care across areas such as cardiac, respiratory, gastrointestinal health, mental health, chronic illness, and care of older persons, with increasing responsibility during placements. In the third year, students deepen their expertise in specialised areas including oncology, renal and neurological disorders, alongside developing research awareness and critical thinking. They also explore legal, ethical, social, and cultural aspects of nursing, with elective modules allowing for further personalisation. Clinical placements continue to strengthen confidence and competence. In the final year, emphasis is placed on leadership, evidence-based practice, health policy, and professional development, preparing students for real-world healthcare environments. The program culminates in a full clinical internship, enabling students to transition into independent, accountable practitioners. Overall, the course develops knowledgeable, compassionate, and skilled nurses capable of delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across diverse healthcare settings.
