COURSE CURRICULUM

The Game Art and Design program is structured over four years to develop both creative and technical skills required for the games industry. In Year 1, students are introduced to fundamental concepts such as digital technology, game design, visual design, 3D modelling, and creative coding, along with teamwork and communication skills. Year 2 builds on this foundation with more advanced topics including rigging, animation, concept art, game engine programming, and portfolio development, encouraging students to explore areas of specialisation. In Year 3, students further refine their expertise through modules in animation, level design, game environments, and extended reality development, while also working on collaborative projects and professional career skills. A key component is the industry placement, which provides real-world experience and insight into the professional gaming environment. In the final year, students focus on advanced topics such as game project design, open-world environment creation, architectural visualisation, and industry trends. They can also choose electives to tailor their learning. The program culminates in a major games project or industry internship, allowing students to apply their knowledge to a large-scale, professional-standard project. Overall, the course prepares graduates for careers in game art, design, and development with strong practical and creative abilities.
