COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) in Digital Animation is a four-year program that develops students into skilled animators by combining traditional drawing and storytelling techniques with modern digital production tools. In the early stages, students build strong foundations in drawing, animation principles, visual design, audio storytelling, and introductory production workflows, while also learning about technology, communication, and creative coding. As the course progresses, learners advance into character animation, rigging, compositing, illustration, and visual storytelling alongside studies in film, narrative, and team collaboration. They gain hands-on experience using industry-standard software and techniques to create 2D and 3D animation, short films, and production-ready assets. The program also emphasises creative development through modules in design, psychology, production design, and professional practice, helping students understand both artistic expression and audience engagement. In later years, students specialise through studio-based projects, portfolio development, and advanced modules such as effects animation, creature animation, and background design. Strong focus is placed on industry preparation through work placements, internships, project management, and professional career skills. The final year culminates in a major studio project and industry-based internship, allowing students to produce a professional body of work while applying their technical, creative, and analytical abilities in real production environments and industry standards
