COURSE CURRICULUM

The program Construction Management – BSc (Hons) develops advanced knowledge and practical skills in managing construction projects from planning to completion. Students study construction technology, materials, surveying, economics, law and sustainable building systems while gaining strong competence in measurement, costing, estimating and procurement. The course integrates Building Information Modelling, digital construction tools, AutoCAD, project management software and data-driven decision making for modern industry practice. Learners also develop engineering mathematics, research abilities, communication and IT competencies to support professional work in the built environment. Emphasis is placed on lean construction methods, health and safety, contract administration and environmental responsibility. Throughout the program, students engage in hands-on learning through laboratories, simulations, group projects and industry-based problem solving. A significant industry placement provides real-world experience in construction organisations, enhancing employability and professional awareness. In later years, students explore advanced topics such as BIM management, virtual design and construction, energy efficiency, urban economics and integrated project delivery. The degree culminates in a dissertation and capstone project where learners apply theoretical and practical knowledge to complex construction challenges, preparing them for careers as construction managers, project managers and industry professionals. Graduates are equipped for national and international opportunities in modern construction management practice and leadership roles.
