COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) in Computer Networks & Cyber Security equips students with skills to design, build, secure, and manage modern networked systems while understanding how cyber threats operate. The program combines theory with extensive practical learning across networking, operating systems, programming, databases, cloud computing, and security technologies. In early stages, students develop foundations in mathematics, digital systems, programming, web technologies, and computer networks, alongside hands-on experience with routers, switches, and operating systems such as Windows and Linux. As the course progresses, learners study enterprise networking, server administration, virtualization, wireless networks, and cloud platforms including AWS and Azure. Cybersecurity is a core focus, covering security operations, network defence, ethical hacking, penetration testing, cryptography, and digital forensics. Students also gain skills in scripting, automation, data communication, and software-defined networking to manage large-scale modern infrastructures. Advanced topics include information security governance, data centre design, IoT security, and emerging technologies. A structured work placement provides industry experience in real IT environments, strengthening employability and professional skills. In final stages, students complete major projects and research work, applying their knowledge to real-world problems while developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities required for careers in cybersecurity and network engineering roles across global industries, worldwide sector.
