COURSE CURRICULUM

This program provides a comprehensive and practical education in strength and conditioning across four years, combining scientific theory with applied coaching skills. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in anatomy, nutrition, biomechanics, physiology, communication, and resistance training, while also learning about movement development and ethical practice. The second year develops more specialised knowledge, including sport psychology, clinical biomechanics, sport nutrition, and performance profiling, alongside practical skills in weightlifting, injury management, endurance training, and working with special populations. Students also gain competencies in performance testing, statistics, and power development. In the third year, the focus shifts to advanced conditioning, youth and para sport development, performance technology, and research methods, culminating in a substantial 600-hour work placement that provides real-world industry experience and professional skill development. The final year emphasises high-level application and professional readiness, with modules in advanced resistance training, coaching behaviour, periodisation, athlete monitoring, and innovation in sport. Students also complete a final year research project, applying scientific methods to contemporary issues in strength and conditioning. Throughout the program, there is a strong emphasis on practical coaching, program design, and athlete development across the lifecycle, preparing graduates for careers in strength and conditioning, sports performance, and athlete support roles.
