COURSE CURRICULUM

This program provides a comprehensive and applied curriculum in sport and exercise nutrition, combining scientific theory with practical skills over four years. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in communication, nutrition, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and strength and conditioning, alongside understanding movement development and nutrition across the lifecycle. The second year deepens knowledge through modules in nutritional assessment, public health nutrition, sport psychology, and sports nutrition, while also developing skills in performance profiling, injury management, testing, statistics, and physical training methods such as speed, endurance, and power development. In the third year, students explore specialised topics including ergogenic aids, food safety, nutrition for health and disease, and sports technology analytics, while also developing research and professional skills such as content creation and communication. A key component is a 600-hour work placement, allowing students to apply their learning in real-world sport or health environments. In the final year, students focus on advanced applied areas such as performance nutrition, exercise physiology, food sustainability, and working with specific populations like female athletes. The program also develops leadership, innovation, and career planning skills, alongside a final year research project. Overall, graduates are equipped to support performance, health, and wellbeing through evidence-based nutrition and exercise strategies.
