COURSE CURRICULUM

This program offers a structured and practical curriculum that develops knowledge and skills in sports science and performance technology across four years. In the first year, students build a foundation in communication, nutrition, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and resistance training, alongside an introduction to performance and video analysis. The second year advances understanding through modules in clinical biomechanics, sport psychology, data analytics, sports nutrition, and performance profiling, while also focusing on injury management, testing, statistics, and strength and conditioning methods such as endurance and power training. In the third year, students explore current trends in performance technology, sports analytics, data visualisation, and research methods, while also studying youth athletic development. A major component is a 600-hour work placement, allowing students to apply their learning in a real sports performance environment. In the final year, the focus shifts to advanced applied performance analysis, periodisation, talent identification, wearable technologies, and working with specific groups such as female athletes. Students also develop leadership, innovation, and professional skills, alongside completing a final year research project. Overall, the program equips graduates with the ability to analyse performance, interpret data, design training strategies, and support athletes and teams in achieving optimal performance outcomes.
