COURSE CURRICULUM

The Software Design with Virtual Reality and Gaming program provides students with strong technical and creative skills in software development, game design, and immersive technologies. Across the three-year course, students study programming, software engineering, web development, databases, networking, agile methodologies, and mathematics while specialising in game development and virtual reality applications. Learners gain hands-on experience using industry-standard tools such as Unity and modern programming languages including Java and C++. The program develops practical skills in 2D game development, game physics, artificial intelligence, animation, audio integration, collision detection, and VR application design. Students also learn about connected devices, digitalisation, multimedia creation, and cloud-based technologies, giving them a broad understanding of modern software systems. Practical projects and lab-based learning allow learners to design, build, test, and deploy games and immersive applications for different platforms including PC and mobile devices. Modules in software engineering, networking, and agile project management help students develop teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities relevant to the technology industry. In the final stage of the program, students complete an industry placement where they apply their technical and professional skills in a real software development environment. Graduates are prepared for careers in game development, software engineering, VR and AR development, multimedia production, and interactive digital technologies.
