COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc in Music Production and Technology is a comprehensive three-year program that combines music, audio engineering, digital production, live sound, and creative media. In Year 1, students build foundational knowledge in audio electronics, studio recording, music theory, digital audio workstations, soundscape design, and creative music performance. They learn recording techniques, music composition, sound synthesis, acoustics, and collaborative production using industry-standard software and hardware. Year 2 develops more advanced skills in interactive music production, live sound reinforcement, audio post-production, music for film, visual projection, event planning, and portfolio development. Students gain practical experience in multimedia performance, collaborative projects, and live event production while strengthening technical and creative problem-solving abilities. In Year 3, the program focuses on professional-level production, live sound engineering, event management, advanced music arrangement, game audio, interactive audiovisual environments, and commercial studio production. Students also complete research projects and specialised electives that support individual career interests. The final semester centres on an extensive placement or professional practice module, where students gain real-world experience either through external industry placements or in-house production projects with live industry collaboration. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on creativity, technical expertise, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and professional development. Graduates are prepared for careers in music production, live events, studio engineering, game audio, film sound, audiovisual production, and other areas of the creative and entertainment industries.
