COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Music and Sound Engineering is a three-year program designed to develop practical and theoretical skills across sound engineering, instrument technology, audio production, and creative media. In Year 1, students are introduced to core areas such as sound engineering, instrument construction, music appreciation, video and animation creation, communication skills, and music marketing. They gain hands-on experience in recording, basic studio work, instrument building, and creative production, alongside developing essential academic and professional skills. In Year 2, the focus shifts to more advanced technical and creative development, including digital audio production, acoustics, sound perception, and live sound engineering. Students also continue instrument building, learn audio mixing and sound for visual media, and complete a work experience placement to gain industry exposure. Communication and portfolio development are also emphasised. In Year 3, students engage in advanced modules such as broadcast audio production, sound for film and television, video game audio, acoustic design, and advanced sound engineering techniques. They also complete industry placements and collaborative projects with students from related creative disciplines. Additional study in audio electronics, visual creation, and specialised production techniques strengthens both technical and artistic abilities. Overall, the program blends practical studio work, creative projects, industry collaboration, and real-world experience to prepare graduates for careers in sound engineering, media production, and the wider creative industries.
