COURSE CURRICULUM

This BSc in Game Art and Design prepares students for careers in the games industry by combining artistic development with technical training in game engines, programming, and interactive media production. Students learn to create high-quality game assets, design engaging levels, and develop content for multiple platforms using industry-standard tools and workflows. The program begins with foundations in digital technology, creative coding, visual design, 3D modelling, and game fundamentals, alongside communication and teamwork skills. As it progresses, students specialise in areas such as character modelling, animation, rigging, concept art, game design, UI development, and interactive audio. Advanced modules focus on game engines, effects creation, level design, XR development, and critical game studies, encouraging both technical mastery and reflective thinking about games in society. Studio-based learning and project modules allow students to develop portfolios through independent and team-based production, simulating real industry environments. Work placements and industry collaborations provide practical experience and professional exposure. By graduation, students have strong skills in art creation, design thinking, programming integration, and production pipelines, enabling them to work as game artists, designers, technical artists, or content creators in the global games sector. The program strongly emphasises creativity, collaboration, industry readiness, and continuous portfolio development practice skills.
